The dangers of complacency

Throughout the past few months, God has been teaching me a lot about complacency. Why do I settle for it?

Complacency:: to be self-satisfied and unware of possible dangers.

As a Christ-follower, there is great danger in becoming complacent. And I am sad to say that I've been in those shoes more than once. I'm afraid too many Christians today have settled for this so-called lifestyle. We have become okay with being okay. [Which is not okay.]

My desire is to be surrounded by people who step on my toes spiritually. No, it's not comfortable, but it's absolutely necessary in order to grow.

Luke 14:33-
"In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."
Those words are not spoken lightly by Jesus. He meant business. But do we really take them seriously? Do I?

He does not say to give up something. He says to give up everything. Not an easy task at all.

I have been struggling lately with giving up my rights to my dreams for my life. [You're probably tired of hearing about it. *Sigh*]

Even though it's not easy, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has a reason for this season in my life. He always does. This thought alone brings me comfort. He works in all things. This phrase continues to play in my heart and mind and I love it. Nothing we go through is in vain.

No matter the season you are in, He is there. Reach up and He will reach out.

Blessings!
